Disclosures
The fine print, in normal type.
Everything a prospective client should know before taking our recommendations seriously, collected in one place.
Not FDIC insured
Life insurance and annuities are not FDIC insured, are not bank deposits, are not guaranteed by any bank, and may lose value.
How we are compensated
Landmark Capital Partners, LLC DBA Osurity Financial Services, DBA IUL USA is a licensed insurance broker. When you purchase a policy or annuity through us, the issuing carrier pays us a commission, and may pay renewal or trail compensation and production-based bonuses. That compensation is reflected in the product's pricing. Commission levels vary between products and carriers, which creates an inherent conflict of interest. We disclose it, and we will tell you when a lower-compensating option suits you better. You pay us no separate fee for a consultation, quote or comparison.
No tax, legal or investment advice
We are insurance professionals. Nothing on this site or said in a consultation is tax, legal, accounting or investment advice, and we are not a registered investment adviser. Tax statements are general summaries of current federal law, which can change and which applies differently depending on your facts. Work with your own CPA and attorney on documentation, valuation and tax positions.
Estimates are not quotes
Calculators and examples on this site use simplified assumptions and produce illustrative ranges. They are not quotes, applications, binders or guarantees of insurability or price. Only an issued policy creates coverage, and only the issuing carrier sets the premium.
Illustrations and non-guaranteed values
Permanent life insurance and indexed product illustrations contain both guaranteed and non-guaranteed elements. Non-guaranteed values — credited interest, dividends, index caps, participation rates and policy charges — can change and are not promises of future results. Actual results will differ, often materially. Always read the guaranteed columns.
Guarantees depend on the carrier
All guarantees, including death benefits, minimum interest rates and lifetime income payments, are the obligation of the issuing insurance company and depend on its claims-paying ability and financial strength. They are not backed by Osurity, by any bank, or by any government agency.
Annuity specifics
Annuities are long-term contracts. Early withdrawals may incur surrender charges and market value adjustments, and withdrawals before age 59½ may be subject to a 10% federal tax penalty in addition to ordinary income tax. Income riders carry ongoing charges. Read the contract and any disclosure statement in full.
Life insurance specifics
Policies contain exclusions and limitations, including a contestability period and, typically, a suicide exclusion during the first two years. Material misstatements on an application can void coverage or reduce a claim. Term coverage expires at the end of the term. Loans and withdrawals from a permanent policy reduce cash value and death benefit and may create a taxable event or cause a lapse.
State availability
Products, features, riders and pricing vary by state and are not available everywhere. We transact only where we are licensed — see Licensing.
Audio, articles and third-party content
Educational audio and written material on this site is produced by or for Osurity, an insurance broker that earns commissions on products it places. Treat it as the perspective of a licensed insurance professional with that interest, not as neutral research. Links to third-party sites are for convenience only and are not endorsements.
Testimonials
We do not publish client testimonials, endorsements, awards or rankings on this site. Where we cannot substantiate a claim to a regulator's satisfaction, we do not make it.
